Update on the Masjid Darul Iman project

Respected Brothers and Sisters,                                                             

As-Salamu Alaykum, wrwb.

We are writing this update to further brief you on the status of the Masjid Darul Iman project.

To get into construction phase, the Board of Directors of Darul Iman has been working diligently and efficiently with various city planners, department heads, land/water engineers, various consultants and architects all in an concerted effort with one specific end-goal in mind: to attain the permits - which is quite an involved process, from the City of Markham necessary to start the construction of our Masjid, Insha’Allah.

Alhamdulillah we have heard recently from the City of Markham that we are very close to receiving the permits. May Allah (swt) bless all those who have supported our project to reach this point.

Beginning of the Construction:

Indeed, we are on the verge of receiving the city permit to begin construction however we need One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) to ensure the success of the construction phase. We are at a very pivotal point, that, as soon as we receive permits we will begin construction and of course that cannot be done unless we have the required funds.

Project Details Consists of:

-         Prayer area is approx. 10,000 sq ft 

-            Serving approximately 500 congregrants

-         Three well equipped classrooms/ recreational facilities for all ages

-         Islamic library and support area especially for elders

-         Community support center/ dawah and guidance center

-         Estimated cost to start construction is $1.4 million

-         Estimated cost to complete the construction is $6 Million

“The noble Prophet (PBUH) said: “Whosoever builds a Masjid for Allah(swt), Allah(swt) will build for him a house in paradise.”
